payrises are usually about 2.5% ...so on 12k a year this is about £500 a year after tax. about £50 a month =/

where did you get the £3000 figure from? Coming off probation doesnt usually constitue a payrise?

    It's because i'm also a Trainee...

so due to the fact i have no qualifications my pay is really low at the moment...

after that my normal payrise per year will be in line with 2.5% (i'm a computer programmer, so payrises in the Computing industry do tend to be more than this though)

It's not a Yearly payrise at all...it's a "Well done for passing probation...Here! have a decent salary"

Though as i said...in my case it might not happen at all, and i might get no pay rise...i love the job, so that wouldn't matter, but it's nice to be thinking about it lol...
Am just going off what one of my colleagues got when he passed his, and what he said is about average after finishing training.

Orange 'Dolphin' plan is £30 a month for unlimited texts (up to 3000), 200 mins (500 mins if you pay £35 pcm). Check to see if you're entitled to any discounts for being a previous customer. thats usually 5%. They usually offer 10% off if you work for certain companies (corporate discount).

    I got mine reduced to £25 a month :)

basically I never pay more than £25 a month!! ...I usually send 2500 texts a month too.

No where can beat the deal either! :D

Yeah, i'm on the Orange Dolphin tarriff (the £35 a month one)

I just have a few add on packs at the moment..

I'm fine with what i have... I've been working there for around a month and a half now, and my review is due in december.

I really like the company and enjoy the work more than anything i've done before, and can manage on the salary too....it's amazing what going from 6k P.A. to 12k can do for you!) I doubled my income, and my ability to pay off debts...

If i was actually qualified to do the job, then yes, i would have asked for more...but after failing a good 20 interviews for this kind of work, i was happy to get into a great company that would take the chance on me... By the way, while i can programme, and i am very computer literate... i only have 1 GCSE.... An A in Math... thats the complete and grand total of my exam results (i didn't go to my GCSEs first time round and got all Us and Gs... Retook it when i was 21)

So yeah, i'm happy where i am..

I am already a expecting a payrise mid dec... my boss said "Substantial" when he offered me the job, and as said, a collegue told me he got about 30%...

but as i've also said, i won't hold my breath, and if i have to stay on a 12k a year salary, until i have enough job experiance to move to a higher paying posistion somewhere else... i will... because there is no way that i am stacking shelves, working in a cinema, or a mcdonalds, ever ever ever again. EVER.
