Haha no problem, we weren't actually on Eco 7 at all as the first thing we did was remove the Eco 7 fuse board. I then asked the supplier for a single-rate tariff. I'm still very new to this but apparently we still have a dual-rate board, which needs to be changed. I would recommend a smartmeter as well to show real-time usage and to do away with any meter readings. Although be careful on the compatibility between energy suppliers - might be worth waiting for the next gen. to come out. I did query with my supplier but the best rates seemed to be on smart-meter tariffs so I decided to take the plunge and go for it.

EDIT: Apologies didn't see you query the radiator size. It's done per room. They recommended 1kW per 1m^2 of floor space. In short this lead to us getting:
3kW in the Kitchen and Hallway (think hard about buying these as you would normally spend about £50 more for the big 10kW ones - not very cost efficient).
    7.5kW in both bedrooms
    10kW in the Lounge

I think it may also be worth noting that I have an electrically timed heated towel rail in the Bathroom. I think the brand was Bray. I haven't had an issue with it although the initial setup was a bit confusing. It just introduces a little receiver on the bottom of the radiator and also a remote control that you do all your programming from.
  • Cheers, I did think about the username beforehand but I realise it only has a limited life span! When are you classed as not young? Will have to change it to OldDumbNBroke soon!

MSE don't usually allow users to change their username.

But you could always create a new user account with a new name. I'm sure you know how to do that, don't you ?
