Miele Fridge Repair

Hello All
Hopefully someone can help me here.. I have a miele fridge freezer, on which the fridge part had stopped working (not cooling) for a while, I could live with that not working. Yesterday the freezer stopped cooling, this I need sorted.
The unit has two compressors at the back, i am guessing one for the fridge and the other for the freezer. I had turned off the unit for a few hours to see if it "resets" itself. When I turned it on again, I could hear it starting (low whirling sound). Left it on overnight, checked this morning and still freezer not cooling. I checked the back of the unit and one of the compressors was very hot to touch (same as yesterday before I switched it off).
picture of the back of the unit..

I dont really want to buy a new one I can help it. Is there anything I can check to see if this can be repaired without spending too much money?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

As above , the pipe between the fridge and the freezer can set solid with ice .Ex forum ambassador
