    Morning everyone,

Cloudy and decidedly cooler here at the moment, much as the hot weather is nice you don’t feel up to doing much at all so will be heading over to the yard soon to exercise Lu before it gets too hot.
DN thoroughly enjoyed her riding lesson yesterday and said that she would definitely like to do more, may be biased but she is a smashing young woman and such good company :)

Apart from Lu not a lot planned for today, am doing the bare minimum to keep the house ticking over, no deep cleaning at the moment that’s for sure.

BTDT that is good news and hopefully a weight off your mind.
That was sad Snooker and shocking for someone so young.

Right, time to get going, have a good day folks x

    Morning one and all,

Misty with grey skies this morning.

Yesterday evening I helped my mum in the garden with that bloody mares tail for as long as I could stand the midges - which was about an hour and a half.

Tonight, I recon I'll be doing much the same again and hopefully it's a bit cooler this time.

Can't stay for long, so I hope everyone has a lovely day.

SR - Hope the funeral goes ok.

Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need.
DD & SIL treated me to a yummy Indian takeaway yesterday as a thank you for helping out with lifts as their truck is off the road.
Plans for today include getting the battery replaced in my car key and checking in on DD2 who has been to China.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

    Morning all,

Clear blue skies, forecast to be very hot in the NW today. Ly1a had her walk early to keep her as cool as can be.Her eyes were watery and red again last night and very little drops left, may have to resort to her allergy tablets. She hates the eye drops anyway and moves just as the drop is falling into the eye so its quite often wasted ;)

DGC visiting tonight,DGD is back at school today, thanks for asking Holly :).They'll be pleased as their 'slime' making kit has arrived. In anticipation of the mess,I popped down to the market yesterday afternoon and bought some pvc table covering for the garden table :rotfl:My brother called at lunchtime and we sat out with a coffee. They are going camping at the weekend with their grandson (5) so hope the weather doesn't break yet.

I feel such a fool :o.We've had this fridge freezer for 2 1/2 years and I've always said it doesn't get very cold.I got the burgers out for tea. They were from the butchers pack and wrapped in an opaque cellophane so I hadnt noticed they had developed a greyish bloom all over so sadly had to chuck em.Quick call to DH to ask him to pick up more on his way home -the butcher was just about to lock the door but took pity on him :D The fridge doesn't have numbers on and apparently I have had it on nearly the highest temp, probably ok for our usual temperatures but not when its so hot :o

BTDT- glad it wasnt anything more sinister x
    Snoozer,how sad :(
Jackie, I'm like that too with the factor 50.
Speky we get midges too as we are surrounded by trees, not as bad as Scotland though
I can smell smoke outside, some of our moorland caught fire on Tuesday and the firefighters were there all day.I wonder if its caught again. Not as bad as the fires on Saddleworth moor though :(

    Take care everyone xx

    Morning folks.

I slept really well and woke up feeling very hot - the sun had burst through the cloud very early on. Yesterday was not sunny but warm, very pleasant. Last night I mowed the lawn, I'm so glad as it'd be too hot to do it today.

There's a washing load out on the line, not a full load but I didn't want to 'waste' the sunny day just in case the rains return.

Now I'm waiting for the wood burner 'engineer' to come, the stove whistles loudly when there's a wind. Only way to stop it is to open the door. He ususally calls in on his rounds down here.

The David McCallum book is sort of interesting, it's writing style is odd (too much minute information) but I am perservering. The plot is compelling in a light hearted manner.

I hope everyone has a happy Wednesday.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Thank you for the good wishes yesterday re the car and also DGD, she has been discharged from hospital and is now at home. I have not heard from her since yesterday afternoon. DD1 and SIL have flown to Cape Verdi this morning.

Very bright and hot here, there is a breeze which helps.

DB has gone out with a chap from the history group to our local museum, they are chasing some history of the village which they think the museum has. I sent him off with his stick and a hat.

I have cooked the salmon for tonight's supper. will have it with salad. The strawberries are finished, DB has started picking raspberries and gooseberries now.

I did not sleep well last night so am having a quiet day tomorrow is going to be megga busy. I am taking a neighbour to have her plaster off in the morning and we are getting the carpets cleaned in the afternoon.

I've had to retreat indoors! Practically the first time since living here. It's way too hot to even sit and read. Even though I've overweight too I really enjoy the heat despite ending up in a hot sweaty melting mess.

The wood stove man has been, he's put on a new seal around the inside of the door as it was frayed, and he's put the lid back on properly :o

M ajestic Wine delivery has arrived - I forgot about it. And my washing has dried in double quick time.

Once the 'midday sun' has passed I'll go back out. Winter will be creeping up the back of this weather and stay with us much longer. I'm going to ignore my brown grass, water the flowers / potatoes / strawberries and enjoy it all.

I hope all the poorlies are feeling the rays of the sun too. They can't heal but they can cheer a weary soul.
  • afternoon all. After my morning bus ride into town, after lunch I thought I would sit out and read. It wasn't long before I was under the big umbrella and, even then, I felt too warm and really sleepy. So now I am cooling off on the sofa. Mr TA is having his afternoon nap on the bigger sofa.

Only 2 of the DGDs here tonight for tea and sleepover. Eldest is going to her dads. I decided sausages, beans and chips sounded the easiest option and it's something they will both eat. Both coming after their dance classes, youngest at 6.00 and middle one at 7.15. She has an extra lesson with an ex pro ballerina. Mr TA is having a mix of stuff he can digest. A dish of apple fool and a glass of Aymes strawberry shake, whizzed with ice cream. I was wasting so much food, thinking he would be able to digest it, so now I leave him to decide what he can cope with from his own personal menu of soft foods! The tablets prescribed on Monday are still not aiding his digestion so it looks as though we will be back at the doctors again next week.,

Bye for now. I think I may just have a little nap myself. Paying the price for getting up at silly o'clock! x

Gers I too like to make the most of 'drying' weather and this morning did a small 30 minute was in my machine with odds and ends.

I have a bright yellow fold up soft shopping bag that I keep in my handbag that was getting a bit grey looking so that got thrown into the machine as well, came back to its bright colour and surprisingly didn't 'run' at all which is unusual in yellow things :)

Sun has come out here in north Kent but there is a lovely cooling breeze which has made it a really pleasant day.

I saw the awful Sddlewoth fires on the lunchtime news and hope that no one gets hurt, and any of our friends who live close to it are OK and safe.

I had a heavy head sort of headache this morning which I put down to forgetting to have my bedroom window open last night and its only just gone off. But I am making sure I drink lots of water to keep hydrated. Not really fancied much to eat either so I think it may be crackers and cottage cheese tonight as I really don't fancy anything cooked. still my waisteline will thank me no doubt ;)

    keep cool chums

    JackieO xx
