  • Need some more info :) You already done a CCNA and CCNP?

    Where are you based?

So are you looking for a CISCO Academy? I believe they have a website which lists all academies.

Yes i have done my ccna and instead of doing ccnp i want to do ccie , i am living in london.
  • I've done CCNA also - very basic compared to the CCNP - I would certainly recommend going the CCNP route first, its far more in depth than the CCNA. Unless your working for a company like BT/Virgin Media/Marconi etc where you have access to and a very detailed knowledge of the relevant cisco equipment that you would be expected to configure, troubleshoot etc for the CCIE.

The CCNP is the next step up from the CCNA for a reason if it was simple to go straight from CCNA to CCIE then lots of people would be doing it and there would be plenty of test centers in the UK for it.
  • Spot on hendersonb.

I wouldn't recommend "jumping the gun" as such as you'll be missing vital and important modules on the way up. I would definitely advise you do the CCNP first :)

Also agree with above posts- I have only ever known one person who passed the CCIE w/o the CCNP first and that was only the written exam.
The CCNP is hard enough, and unless you are super bright you would be wasting your time. I tried reading up for the security CCIE exam a few years ago but gave up despite the fact that it was much easier than the routing.

    Cheers
    Mark (CCNP)

Get your CCNP and get a job that gets you access to Cisco equipment. Or get a job that gets you access to Cisco equipment and get your CCNP.
Then later go for your CCIE.
