Esa and pip

Hi guys can someone claim esa and pip at the same time? I'm a carer for my partner and she gets high rate pip for both elements.

Someone said she's entitled to claim esa as well.

Well she is entitled to claim ESA, but whether she is ultimately awarded the benefit depends on her particular circumstances and whether she meets the criteria and descriptors.

Apart from your partner claiming PIP, what other benefits do you both claim? and do you work?

Hi. I gave up work to be her full time carer. All benefits we claim are

Pip, is, Ca, CB, Ctc, housing benefit.

You can't get ESA and Income Support at the same time

It could be a good idea to get a benefits check from CAB or similar as, as it says here, it's quite complicated

I agree with Neil's comment about the benefits check. Speak to your local advice agency or local CAB.



Actually before you do this you may want to check to see if your area is a full Universal Credit area, if it is then it would be this you would claim and not ESA.
