Judgement for claimant

Hi guys

I’m so sorry if I’m Posting this when there is a specific area I need to go to or read before but I’m Really struggling to find the information I need.

I was pictured in a Miller and Carter car park on 19/09/2017, 09.05 - 10:14, and have ignored the letters from CEL since, on the 30th of May I received a claim for which I stupidly ignored. Now I have received a letter on dated the 22nd June received today called “judgement for claimant (in default)” and I’m unsure what steps to take now. The pub doesn’t open till midday but obviously the cameras caught a picture of my car possibly over the allotted time limit or out of hours I’m not entirely sure.
I have now had a charge breakdown of the 30th May letter
249.03 amount claimed
25 court fee
50 legal representatives costs
Total amount 324.03

Now it has gone up to 347.13

I have gone online and it says “a judgement has been made against you, you cannot respond to the claim at this time but you may apply for the judgement to be set aside”

Could someone please guide me which steps to take next as I feel like I have missed the boat to appeal like I have read others have done online.

Once again apologies if this post is covered elsewhere, it’s tough trying to find things when I’m not fantastic with these threads

Thank you

At the top of this board is a dedicated parking tickets section. This is more appropriate in there.

The faq section there has a whole explanation of the court process and what you need to do.

You have a CCJ, a County Court Judgement against you. The letter you ignored would be the court informing you that a hearing was taking place and when you don't turn up to a County Court hearing to defend yourself against a claim or submit a written defence you automatically lose regardless of how in the right you are. Your options are to pay it within 28 days of the judgement in which case the matter is closed and there's no impact to your credit record or not pay it and have a CCJ on your credit record which will cause you issues with borrowing for up to 6 years.

We!!!8217;re you properly served with a Claim Form? Did you ignore it? If so, no real grounds for appeal is there.

Make sure you pay the judgment within 30 days. If not, it!!!8217;ll appear on your credit record for 6 years.
