Window Media Player 9 problem. Help

Hi

I am really hoping that somebody could help me.

I have recently discovered MSN Music downloads and think this is great.

I have purchased some songs but am having real problems with this.

I have media player 9 and can get the downloads on my ME machine but when I try to play them it keeps coming up with a send error box. There is no error number when this comes up.

I have sent the errors but still cannot get it to play. I have now tried this with 4 downloaded songs. The first one I tried did actualy work ok and I can play that one but the other 3 I can't.

Very odd.

I have tried re-installing the media player and music manager from msn. I have even done a system restore on my PC.

Any help would be much appreciated.

try gspot(google for it) to see if you have missing codecs
then google klite codec pack and download it.Then you can install the missing codecs.
  • Just a thought but have you tried updating to Media Player 10 - this may solve the problem.

I thought that updating to windows 10 might help until I noticed that it seams it is only for Windows XP users. I am on ME.

I did start the download before I realised and stopped it half way through. I thought maybe that has made the problem worse.

I have now searched for updated codecs for Media Player 9 and have tried to install them. When doing this I get an error message saying

    "error creating <C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\IXP007.TMP\setup_wm.exe /Quiet /R:N>
Reason a device attatched is not functioning properly"

I have now tried re-installing windows ME and still have the same problem.

Thanks for that. It seams to be a really good program.

I hope this is not a silly question but I cannot seam to delete the Media player.

It is not listed in the add/remove programs folder and if I try to delete it in the windows explorer it says that it "cannot delete - it may be in use" though I can't find it in my programs running.

I so wish I knew more.
