Range Rover Evoque

Hi folks

Thanks for looking in ...

What I'd like to know about the Range Rover Evoque is to do with the panoramic roof.

Is it worth getting an Evoque with it ?

What advantages/disadvantages and pros/cons are there ?

Disadvantages are if it gets damaged it!!!8217;s an insurance claim rather than a glass claim and Range Rover build quality.

Probably worth going on an Evoque owners forum and asking owners directly about the advantages/disadvantages of the roof.

Don't know about Range Rovers but we have a panoramic roof in our not-a-Range-Rover. I don't see the point & the wife thinks it's wonderful.

Pros- if an interesting bird or plane goes over you can watch it all the way. Can't think of any more.

Cons- expensive if it gets damaged. Can't think of any more.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

It is also heavy with the mass where you don't really want it.

Having had a defender with a heavy roof tent I can second that !

To me it would depend if you are going to carry passengers in the back seats on a regular basis. Because of the styling and small rear windows to me the back is a dark unpleasant place to spend any time. The panoramic roof makes it much more light and airy
  • Thanks for all of the input folks.

The reality of how much it would cost to replace, plus the weight factor helps the decision making ...

Also, what would the outcome be if you happened to roll it or slide it down the road on its roof? Car roofs in metal are pretty strong these days. Not sure how good a sheet of glass would be.
