I apologize for giving incorrect info. Usually i double check with research from the internet, this time i didn't.

ATOS have changed their name to independent assessment services, the information on the ATOS website still applies.

It's a shame you don't have anyone to go with you because if you can cancel this one it means you'll only have to attend another. Maybe it's better to get it over with, rather than put it off because your anxiety is just going to continue. Good luck.

Well i was thinking as well it would give me more time to see my dr before the appointment, get my head around it and maybe find someone to come with me if my dad is well enough then or something. as they gave me less than 2 weeks notice of appointment , i dont feel its that much time .
    thank you

volume 8 of the Decision Makers Guide

“42247 Only one rescheduled appointment can be offered during a WCA referral. If the claimant cannot attend the rescheduled appointment, medical services will record that the customer has failed to attend. The DM will have to consider the reasons why the claimant cannot attend and consider good cause.”

Hi guys, i braved it and went to the assessment in the end on my own.
It wasn't too bad but I did have a panic attack. The assessor had my old records up as well and I told him not much has changed. so he said he didn't need to see my medication. He asked if I go out to socialise, didn't ask why I don't. And he didn't make me bend down to touch knees or toes like I had to do before as I have back problems . I honestly dunno why they called me in ? He seemed like a good dr as he pointed out things like anxiety could be the cause of my restless legs as well and things like that. We had a bit of a laugh as well . oh well the wait begins for the decision ..

I'm glad you went, well done for that! Better that than having to face the appointment again.

You can ring DWP next week and ask for a copy of the assessment report, this will give you some idea what the decision will be. Good luck and hopefully it will be good news.
