Post Office Card account.

My recently deceased father had a Post Office Card account into which his Old Age Pension was paid. During his illness (nine months), I paid all of his bills, rent etc. from my own funds. Is the money which would have accumilated in that account treated as an inheritable asset as it would be for normal bank account?

Yes it is, you need to fill in closure form P6702 If there is more than £10,000 in there you will need to apply for probate to get it released.
