Router Problem?

PLEASE could someone give me some advice. Every so often about 3 times a week I cannot connect although it DOES show that I am connected. I have contacted my ISP who were VERY helpful! and they eventually asked BT to check my line. All was fine until Friday when once again I had the same problem. I have a Linksy ADSL GatewayRouter when I go into their number on my browser, it shows as attached:
V3.40(FH.4)d0 | 04/11/2003Link Status: Up Upstream Speed: 288 kbpsDownstream

WAN:

IP Address:0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask:0.0.0.0 Default Gateway:0.0.0.0 DNS:0.0.0.0
0.0.0.0

I reset the connection, turn off the router and after umpteen times doing this, usually I am able to connect! This is driving me crazy though, has anyoane any suggestions please? unfortunately I haven't got another router to see if the same thing happens which would be the ideal thing to try.

I assume you have a static ip address and a 2mb line. Have you input the dns server details from your isp? I had to do this to solve a problem with not being able to post on some forums. Can you ping outside servers? Have you input the correct details sent you from your ISP?

If your line is showing a reading from the router up and down typical for your 2mb connection then your line must be connected at the exchange.

Do you run a software firewall too? Might be worth disabling it to see if its to blame.

Just test everything one at a time (prolly done all this already).
