Hi. I have purchased an air purifier. Can someone please calculate what my daily running costs will be?
it is 60 watts and will be used for 2 hours per day.
My tariff is £12.28 per kwh

I have tried using an online calculator, but I'm bamboozled.

Thank you

    I seriously hope so :-)

    60 / 1000 * 12.28 * 2 = 1.5p per two hour session.

Or £65 per year if running continuously 24/7/365.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    Thank you for your replies.
Yes I meant to say 12.28p per kwh.
Forgive me for being a bit unsure, but can you confirm that using it for 2 hours a day will cost me one and a half pence per day?

If so, then I'm pleased as I really want to use it for 8 hours a day, which I think would be 6p per day. Is this right?

Hayfever is really bad, so I'm hoping the air purifier will work.
    Thank you

You could run it for 16 hours and only use about 12p of leccy or a whole 24 hours for 18 pence.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
