P4 Parking ticket Edinburgh
Chloet
Hiya, today my boyfriend parked outside my grandads house whilst we went for food. My grandad lives in town in a private parking area, I thought the car would be fine there whilst we were only away for an hour! When we got back I noticed there was a ticket from p4 parking ! I’m the registered keeper of the car but my boyfriend is the driver, I appealed the ticket & it’s not came back yet but in case it’s been denied - do I have to pay the ticket? In the appeal i put my boyfriends name as the registered driver but didn’t state me as the keeper and all I wrote was “parked outside my girlfriends grandads whilst we were visiting”. Help x

you have both gone about this all wrong
at no time should the driver have been divulged
neither should those details have been in your post above
as this is Scotland , no contact should have been made with the parking company
only a driver is deemed liable for a parking charge in scotland, so it appears they know who that person is now
and nobody is a registered driver, that idea does not exist
there are the following
the owner
the registered keeper
the keeper
the driver
an occupant of the vahicle
sometimes one person may be more than one of them , but blabbing to these people will never help your case
in future, follow the advice for Scotland given in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread
as for paying it , that is the choice the blabbers will have to make, we dont give advice on paying these sc@mmers, only give advice on the best way to beat these sc@mmers
you act in haste , you repent at leisure0 -
That was a big mistake naming the driver - especially in Scotland.
In Scotland, without the driver's name there was no-one the PPC could chase for their money.
You need to read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to better understand the game you are now caught up in.
Your boyfriend now needs to wait for up to five years to see if P4 Parking decide to take him to court.0
