Not pointless at all, the thread is about German bank acounts. N26 are very much alive and well in Germany.DCFC79 said:
Pointless posting it since N26 have left the UK and they announced it back in February.Bravo_Zulu said:Sorry for the thread resurrection but I didn't see this until now. Opened via the app and as far as I'm aware you need a smart phone to use the account.

Surely they're UK based bank accounts.DCFC79 said:

I should update my original post though. We will have to close our account at Target but have another account opened with a bank based in Frankfurt. In view of this it is possible to open accounts within the EU.0 -
Depends how much groveling Boris and Co wish to do with the EU.Ballard said:

A Swiss style agreement is possible if they aren't in Little Englander mode that day.0 -
It’s difficult to reply to this without moving the conversation onto Brexit but that’s the reason why Johnson got elected. The governments stance has been that we have our red lines that we won’t cross and I really can’t see anyone begging for anything.dahj said:

Without going into detail, the loss of Target access for my employer is a pain but not insurmountable. We are likely to need to reverse repo the majority of our balance rather than simply leave it on account.0 -
The Swiss/EU relationship may be in danger!dahj said:

Unlike Cummings, Johnson & Co, the Swiss know a thing or two about referendums. What we had was a shambles compared with 'proper' referendums.
Possibly looking at what happened here, the Swiss People's Party have called a vote in September about abolishing Swiss/EU free movement. In the past, the Swiss voted against joining the EU but in favour of a special relationship including free movement.
Declaration of interest. I am a dual UK/Swiss national and will have a vote in the September referendum. In the run up, I will receive comprehensive information on the pros and cons on this and the other votes on the same day, devoid of lies and blatant propaganda. They do take things seriously. No excuse for not understanding.0 -
As a Swiss national, you are presumably aware that the Swiss voted once before for closing their borders to the EU. Their Government ignored it because of the gigantic negative impact this would have had on the Swiss economy. I can’t see that there would be a different outcome this time.Roger1 said:

Anyway, this is not a matter for the Budgeting and Bank accounts board, and is definitely off-topic. Apologies for partaking in the diversion.0
