Learner Driver Insurance

Hi, I hope I'm on the right forum, I need a bit of advice about car insurance. My 19 year old bay is learning to drive and I've bought him a small car to learn in. I have my own car and have it insured through Tesco. What is the best way to go about insuring the new (second hand) car for my son ? Should I put the new car in my name and insure it myself through Tesco then look to put him on as a named driver or should I register the car in his name and do it that way ?
Any help would be appreciated please.

Fronting is unlawful and you insurer will take a dim view of it if/when you are caught out.0 -

What is fronting ?0 -
It's where you attempt to bring down the cost of another's person's insurance by putting yourself down as the main driver, even though you wont be.Touchdown69 wrote: »Hahaha I menat boy !

You can include him, his car and you on your insurance - of course he wont build up any no claims but that could wait until he's 21 and the premiums drop a lotIf I ruled the world.......0

Insure the car in the son's name, with yourself as an additional driver.Touchdown69 wrote: »Ah ! So what is the best way for me to do this ?
Be aware that the premium will increase when/if he passes his test.
On the plus side, insuring in his own name means he has the opportunity to earn NCD.0 -
Many Thanks0
