    walwyn1978- I have messaged you
  • Google "City & Guilds Functional Skills Provider" - I used to deliver it to Fire Service employees in about 4 weeks - potentially 2 weeks because it's just 2 exams and one speaking and listening assessment - It was free if they show a learning need or £500 if they didn't (just pay for the exams)

    I'll have a look at that. Wow. £500?!? Is that the price I am looking at if I need to do a short course ?!!!55357;!!!56885;
  • It!!!8217;s cheaper if you just do the exams I believe.

    I would do a search with local colleges and training providers and contact them and see what they can do for you.

    L2 FS is free if you don't have GCSE unless you're paying to be a private candidate. Be wary of a full courses charging you unless you actually get something extra (e.g. exam in 4 weeks or whatever)

    I have just received an Adult Learning booklet through the post so the classes are being set up now. Perhaps it may be worth googling adult learning within your area?

    I would have thought, with schools and colleges about to go on holiday for weeks and weeks, there must be some English teachers who will soon be at a loose end who would welcome the opportunity to give some private tuition. Worth trying social media, perhaps? Otherwise, I can only echo the above advice to find adult learning courses in your area.

    Good luck, OP.

    For starters get hold of the syllabus and some practice exams so that you are aware of the levels, and practice your exam technique. You might not need many hours of actual tuition, but a bit of guidance would help.

    I teach English as a foreign language and too far from you ! but Smodlet's idea is a good one.
