edited- made mistake in op. I was asking about the 'best' antispyware products and whether to consider changing spybot for something else. I have decided to try bitdefender for now, spent all day testing different apps out and am happiest with this one for the moment. Thanks all.
Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.

A layered defence will always be best.
If you are happy with your current set up then why change.
Personally I don't like windows defender and choose to use the paid for version of AVG AS which is proactive.
SuperAntiSpyware after the trial is a on demand scanner so it cause you no issues.

windows defender on Vista, i presume not much cop?
Windows Defender is part of Vista's OS so don't try to remove it as it has other uses other than just detecting Spyware/Malware within Vista.Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best
Just because it's free don't mean it's good
