Faulty dishwasher

Options
Hi guys a little advise needed please..
Purchased a dishwasher 14th April this year and i broke down 2 weeks ago.. engineers came out Friday and stated that the dishwasher had a manufacturing fault that could not be repaired..
I purchased it from AO and their telling me it's down to the manufacturer to authorise replacement of dishwasher??
Am i beyond current times in thinking that you usually go back to who you purchased the item from??

Thank you in advance for any replies :D

AFAIK, your contract is with the retailer. (Nothing to stop you going to the manufacturer yourself though if you think you may get a quicker result.)

Legally your contract is with the retailer, in practice the manufacturer will sort it out. Was the chap who came out to look at it from the manufacturer? If so he should've sorted out a replacement for you. If not then the manufacturer may have a different view on whether it can be repaired or not.
