    Thanks Quentin

I've paid it now and got the receipt of payment. I now send this off to Northampton CC with a note asking them to remove the judgement from the register?

There may be a few avenues you could try to get your money back, although this depends upon:
Why your vehicle received a parking charge in the first place
and Whose car park this parking charge was issued in.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

    The claimant should do this.

But if they don't, then yes you can DIY.

You will need to pay a fee so wait and see if the claimant does notify the court before you get involved

The advice to get a receipt is so you have all bases covered should the claimant fail to let the court know

Well it was parked in a car park behind Zizzi's in Henley but it turns out it is used by multiple companies and I parked in the wrong bay. It was pitch black so I had no idea. Most frustrating thing is my friend parked next to me and never received any letter!

Another fee? What is this for now and how much can I expect to pay?

    Thanks

You would only pay it were you to have to get the court to remove the ccj from the register.

As posted hopefully not needed as long as the claimant tells the court you paid the judgement in full
