Car written off

My car a few days ago has now been officially written off


Recorded now live on HPI as Category B write off total loss.

Question, do DVLA now know about this or do I need to inform them?

Silly question I expect, but is this category recorded by DVLA or HPI?

When the insurance company pay out they will ask foir the V5 and they will inform DVLA

Finally, if I call DVLA will they give me the V5 document reference number over the phone?

Don't you have the V5?

You dont need to inform the DVLA - just wait for your cheque from your insurers and buy another car.

Both organisations record the vehicle with the category.
