Morning all
Looks like another cracking day here, I have a towel load in the wm and will hang it out today, got various piles of washing on the table for everyone to take upstairs.
We need to do a quick tidy through this morning and then get our walking with the pup, will try and go around lunchtime when the football is on so that its quieter, not that we meet many people when we are walking as we tend to go to remote places, but the roads will be nice and quiet !
Going to bbq for dinner again tonight, there is still some coleslaw left from yesterday so I will just need to make a bowl of salad, and I might stuff some mushrooms and peppers as well.
OH put my solar powered lights up in the garden yesterday, they look so pretty when you are sitting out there in the evenings.
Right better get on have good days all xx
Camelot enjoy your lunch xxx0 -
Morning all,
A day in the garden for Grump, he's not keen on company when he's in the garden but I've got a couple of small changes I'd like to make so it's easier for him. I've got some stuff that needs to go in the shed so I'll creep it in whilst he's not looking.
Not much to do today but I know I can find something to do.
Onwards and forwards
Have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning folks.
Nelski - go carefully! It's great when that first sense of freedom comes back, just be careful about overdoing it.
Camelot - I hope your lunch is a happy thing.
I'm indulging in a little nostalgia by playing The Who very loudly. Just onto Live at Leeds, I may need to sit down for that one.
The sun is out though the wind is still a bit nippy, at least it keeps the midges at bay. My shorn tree is looking much better and the garden has more light to it. The garden is fully walled and north facing so it needs all the light possible. Perhaps the grass under the old canopy may recover. All the cut down branches are piled up in the barn waiting to be collected by my neighbour who will take them up into the woods to rot down and provide a home for lots of wildlife.
I'm trying to calm my nerves about tomorrow with mindless tasks and then I'll go out in the front garden to read - if the wind dies down. I'm still eating that flaming chicken, I'll be glad to see the end of it!
Happy Sunday to everyone.0 -
Timed a quick visit to M*rrisons with the footie, hoping it would be quiet and it was, I got two swordfish steaks and two pieces of haddock for the grand total of 44 p and normally you would find it difficult to get at the reduced section so I'm quite pleased. Thank you footballers, you have saved me nearly £8.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
I could have sworn I posted this morning, but no sign of it.
Busy day, into town to pick up some bits and then on to DD2's for lunch. Chicken pie with veg and chocolate cheese cake for dessert.
I was told that DGS was coming to see us he had something to tell us, however he did not come, so gave his mother permission to tell the news.......I am to be a great grandmother again in October.....a little girl apparently. I have been asked to make a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt for the baby. Very weird, I went into Boyes for some contrasting wool before we went to DD2's for the blanket I am knitting, I picked pale and rose pink wool !! so I guess the new baby is going to get a blanket as well.
I am fast loosing count of the number of GGChildren we have between us. I think we have 13 grand children and 7 great grand children......
I need to go through my stash for fabric, I know I am going to have ti buy some plain pink, but think I might be able to do the SBS and the back ground out of fabric I already have. Hey ho I guess I am going to have to sort out the machine and give it a clean.
Just a light supper, may be cheese and biscuits and a few strawberries.0 -

Hi from Germany
We spent Friday night in Bruges - the Belgians do know how to charge for food & beer  but the seven of us had an enjoyable evening & the hotel was nice
Saturday DH & I set off about 10:00 a.m. (the others left about 9:30 :rotfl:) - arrived in Bad Bertrich in Germany about 4:30 p.m. It was cloudy with some sunshine but nowhere near as warm as LondonBad Bertrich is a spa town in the Moselle region of Germany. Set in a valley surrounded by steep densely wooded hills. We found a particular bar/restaurant on Saturday night & because the food was so good & cheap, we had dinner there again tonight & will go back tomorrow for our last meal in Bad Bertrich:rotfl:
Today the seven of us (on 4 motorbikes) went for a ride & ended up overlooking Piesport & the Moselle River - the scenery was spectacular. Out for 5.5 hours, stopped for lunch at a pizzeria :rotfl: in Germany :rotfl: Very tasty & reasonably priced. The day started overcast & a bit chilly, but gradually cleared & did get a bit warmer.
Our dinners have been superb, we all have different meals & none of us have been disappointedLast night I had baked schnitzel covered with tomatoes & melted cheese with rosti potatoes (one of our group liked the look of it so much that it was her pick tonight
)
Tonight I had a venison & mushroom stew in the most divine tasting gravy with croquette potatoes - again another member of our group liked the look of it & will have it tomorrow :rotfl:
As there are just the seven of us & we are all of an age (50’s to 60’s) the whole trip is relaxing & enjoyable.
Congrats csarina :T & Holly so pleased that you had such a lovely day yesterday:)
Hope the weather holds in the U.K. & thank you all for posting :A - I don’t speak or understand German so no telly or newspapers :T
Hope everyone has a great week
