Aspergers, PIP appeal WIN and ESA - Budgeting and growing income

Options
I won my PIP appeal so expecting an back payment of 2 years.
I had an back payment of ESA awhile and after an few months I was skint again.

I don't want that to happen this time.

So I'm understanding you can have ESA and PIP... But I still don't trust myself to not be skint.

I've been (Audio) reading like Rich Dad, Poor Dad and I Will Teach You To Be Rich but my problem with the second one is we don't really have the systems that the book talks about in this country but I think some of the ideas could be... Forgot the word... Mixed around?

I think multi bank accounts (including an saving one) is an good idea. And also doing the extra things MSE recommends as such coupeoning/research thingy/swagbucks is an good idea.

But what I'd like is help with budgetting and saving.

Are there any UK bloggers who talk about as well as saving, EASY systems to help be financially secure?
Being an aspie I'm worried if I try put some systems in, I'll ruin things.

Hope this makes sense?

I have bipolar and it causes problems with overspending. I have five different bank accounts, a couple of different jars at home for saving change in, and three purses for different categories of day to day spending.

It sounds complicated, but it's really not.

The hardest thing on the benefits you mention is having to do a different budget every four weeks, because bills are usually monthly. I have bills spread throughout the month, so occasionally I have a benefit period without x direct debit going out.

I don't know about blogs and such, but if you read the debt free wannabe forum on here there'll be loads of tips and suggestions of how to deal with finances. What works for one person wouldn't work for another - for instance, some people find it easier to use cash and withdraw a set amount every week, others find that's terrible and prefer to use a card for everything. It's about finding what works for you.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • I have Schizoaffective Disorder and absolutely hopeless with benefits and money.

What works for me is having an appointee, mine is a corporate appointee from social services. It was set up because I was manic and unable to manage my finances and got myself into quite a lot of debt in a short time. It works wonders for me. My appointee pays all my bills and I'm given a personal allowance of £125 every two weeks on a Thursday paid into my bank. I do my food shopping on pay day fo £35.00 then give my support worker another £35.00 for the next weeks shopping. The rest I can do as I please with. I'm also saving quite alot of money in my appointee account which enables me to go on holiday and buy things I want.

I think having a appointee, particularly a social services one show the DWP you are unable to manage money so looks good in your claim. I've never had any problems claiming benefits since I changed from IB to ESA in 2012.

TBH due to matters TL to write I have issues having someone like my mum being an appointee. Can someone be assigned to me or something? How can I find them?
