What was your pension worth in 2014? Once you have applied for protection, you can no longer make pension contributions. Would this have been appropriate?

Nobody mentioned applying for Pension Protection to me in 2014 either. But it doesn't matter for me because my pension pot falls far short of the limit. If it was not mentioned to you then that is a legitimate criticism of whoever you paid for financial advice in 2014. But if you ever paid Hargreaves Lansdown for advice in the past, it appears you're not doing that now. You are using them as a non-advisory broker.

I cant see why anyone would suggest a £200k pension would need a transitional relief unless there are other pensions. Can you confirm if this is your only pension or if there are others?

Can you confirm if you are paying for ongoing advice (and getting it) or just using HL's platform and possibly HL's funds?

Did you employ HL to give full advice or limit it just to the investment of the pension?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Good for you. I thought that might have been the reason - one of my posts was taken down too. I wasn't insulting anyone in it though. I think it had to be removed because it referred to the abuse and would have looked odd without any context.

Glad to see some apologies issued. That's what made me look twice, someone apologising for something that wasn't there.
