    If the bit sticking out, causing the problem isn't a moving part, then you could just file it down with a tiny metal file

    Is the arm on the eurolock cylinder that activates the lock perfectly inline, so not catching?

    You could try putting the key in and turning it slightly as you try to insert it, see if moving that arm fractionally helps it in.
