Over £30000 saved possibly over £40000 in 5 years time

Hi, really glad to see that the site is back up and running.

When I joined this site I had no clue about mortgages, I just thought that they where all the same.

After reading about overpayments, I went from 23 years down to a 15 year fixed rate and initally saved over £32000ish and took 8 years off the balance just by overpaying £100ish extra a month, I have continued this further by making over payments on top of the fixed rate and I am aiming to pay most off the balance off and save about another £10000 in interest if it all works out.

So to sum up, I love this board.:j

I would be more than happy to make a contribution to the up keep of the servers to try and stop this from happening again, as I would dread to think what this must have been like for people in serious debt who come to this board for help and support as they have been the real losers here:(
Money saving newbie but learning fast:D
