Intrest Incurred Due To Royal Mail Strikes...

I was wondering if anyone can help...

I have just opened (30th Oct) my latest credit card statement to find there has been intered incurred on my account but on the same date as the statement date, being the 25th October.

I never let this happen as I pay the bills of well in advance of the due date, but am quite shocked that this has happened and not very happy about it.

There is this notice on it too....

**IMPORTANT** Due to recent industrial action by Royal Mail, this statement may have been delayed.

Does this however mean I can contest this interest I have recieved as they have not sent the statement in time?

Also, I have just checked a previous statement and the usual statement date is the 15th of the month, so how come they are 10 days late with the statement? Surely they can't be blaming the Postal Strike for that?

I'm just very confused and not a happy lady, and help with this problem will be much appreciated

  • You need to ring whoever you have the card with and ask them. They may be understanding, they may not.

Surely the interest would be from the previous month?

But in all honesty you shouldnt rely on statements to make payments in this day and age.
  • I agree with previous post.
You are online and most cards can be viewed (and paid) this way.

You could also pay by direct debit.
