HereWeGo needs you to download maps, from within the settings.
Not having a signal shouldn't be a problem.
I was in New Zealand and I had downloaded the maps before I left the UK, but it didn't always work without a data connection. It was a couple of years ago and I can't remember the exact details, but I think there were 2 separate issues.
One was searching for an address and not finding it with no data connection. As soon as I had data it had no trouble finding the address.
The second issue was a message like "not ready to navigate", which wasn't very informative, but which went away as soon as I picked up a data connection.
You say it shouldn't be a problem, but experience tells me otherwise.0 -
I don't doubt your experience, only observing that it shouldn't be a problem. I use a phone with no sim in, occassionally, that has Here maps and it works perfectly.I was in New Zealand and I had downloaded the maps before I left the UK, but it didn't always work without a data connection. All that said, I doubt anything in the tech world works 100%, there will always be someone somewhere that has difficulties.
