Cumbernauld Tesco, Highview Ltd parking fines

Someone I know received a parking ticket from going over the 3 hours allowed at Tesco. They didn't know they had a limit and had never noticed any signs, although now we have hunted around I can see them.

Highview don't even pursue through the courts in England let alone Scotland, ignore them as directed in the "newbies" thread, they can only go after the driver in Scotland, if they don't know who that is they are stuffed.
Now edit your post to not disclose the driver!0 -
Your law teacher was correct about ignoring them, but his/her advice falls short in telling you to bin them. You should never throw away any communication that suggests you owe a debt. You file and retain for the time limit available for the alleged debt to be pursued by the court - 5 years in Scotland. But you'd know that anyway seeing as you are studying law? What do I do? In Scotland, it is a different law to England but i'm worried about ignoring them, even though my law teacher told me they are not inforeable and to throw it in the bin.
And you should really know from your studies that there's no such term as 'inforeable'. Try 'enforceable'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hope your friend will ignore the charge too, and make no contact whatsoever with Highview. Put up with the initial rash of threatening letters; it will eventually quieten down. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
