Hi All

I am moving into a flat tomorrow and they had power on during the viewing but that was fine. I was wondering how long it would take to get energy in such as electricity. It had one of those digital displays and also a card I can top up with.

Would it be on the same day it’s just so I have light and power to make cups of tea and power up my fridge.

Thank you

The power will not be cut off.

When you move in, ring up the current supplier and tell them you are now responsible for the energy use at the property which has a key meter fitted and can you have a new keycard in your name and for your account.
Also ask them how do you access the emergency credit while you are waiting for the new keycard to arrive.

Card or key - What you have been given by the Letting Agent is assigned strictly to the the previous tenants account.
If they left was any debt on the account, you will be paying it

Do as advised in in Post 2 so that you have your own account with the supplier

And read the meter the minute you are in, take a photo as well just in case of arguments later, especially useful if previous tenant has left debts
