Not sure what you are getting at here (or where I have said it would be resolved easily), but if you are referring the the CRA you also missed our partial refund as an option. And that would be near the top of the list for a lot of retailers who are not specialists.
I think you'll find most retailers will require you to follow the law if you claim under the CRA. This involves hoop jumping which ever way you spin it.
I prefer the simple life but each to their own.
No one has to escalate anything you discuss it in a manner that resolves the issues.
Are you telling me that there is no disputes between a retailer /manufacture and customers with items that fail within whatever warranty they offer?
This forum is littered with disputes?
Like anything in the world you try to discuss a issue calmly and rationally but if it fails then you have to take further action. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I'll just copy a section of my previous post as you seem to have missed it while I edited. And that is exactly what this thread is about.I think you'll find most retailers will require you to follow the law if you claim under the CRA. This involves hoop jumping which ever way you spin it. The very evidence of this is in the OP. Within the 12 months, I have no doubt that Apple would have resolved it. Now it is over their limited warranty, it'll be down to how the OP approaches it, and how willing Apple are on the day.Are you telling me that there is no disputes between a retailer /manufacture and customers with items that fail within whatever warranty they offer?
Nope, but often (and in this case for definite) the warranty route would have been much easier and simpler to follow. This forum is littered with disputes?
And let's be honest, most of these 'disputes' are due to posters being unaware of their rights. Or are aiming their anger at the wrong people. Even in some cases posters being completely wrong (how many threads with 'scam' in the title are actually scams for instance). If 100% of people were aware of their rights, forums like this wouldn't need to exist.
As I said though, each to their own. I prefer having all available options at my disposal rather than restricting myself to just 1.0
