Wiring a 32A hottub

We've acquired a hottub and need to run a 32 amp cable to it.
Please has anyone done this and if so can we have some advice please?
Our fuse box is a fair distance from the site and would probably mean taking the cable around the house as we have solid floors.
Is it possible to use a spur from the kitchen hob which I am pretty sure is 32 amp and would be much more convenient?
Thanks

I'm sure it's possible but whether it's practical, sensible and lawful is another matter. If both the cooker and the hot tub need a 32A rated supply, can they share one? I wouldn't have thought so.
An electrician will advise what you need, including what armoured cable, isolation, etc you will need for the hot tub and how it should be routed.0 -
Thanks AD, I will try and find a decent reliable electrician as it is out of my league.

You would need to run a new supply from your fusebox. And you will either need the work carrying out by someone who can certify their work or get building regs sign off from the council.0

I'm pretty sure that legally, a hot tub must have its own supply from a separate fused spur so running it from a cooker feed is a no go.
Being a water related appliance then for safety reasons it will also need to be RCD protected, and the cooker spur you have may well not be.0 -
A qualified electrician will be able to calculate the cable size needed and ensure that the right devices are installed in the consumer unit to protect the cable and you when using the hottub. This is definitely not a job for a DIY'er.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
