PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Citation needed. Please link to the relevant laws as everything you've said is untrue.
Can you be a bit more specific on what I said is untrue?
Also, most property law is common law, so I doubt a specific piece of legislation exists anyway. Asking me to cite you a law suggests you do not know this.

Nice thread resurrection.  I’m guessing the OP has probably returned home by now anyway ;)
Still relevant as there is a lot of inaccuracies in the replies, plus it is coming up in searches (how I found it). This site is actually extremely problematic in that regard. If you search for specific questions, threads fro here come up at the top often full of misinformation.
