I have booked a Holiday to Barbados with British Airways Holidays. Yesterday i received an email stating the Barbados have introduced a Tourism Levy from the 1 July which is to be paid at the hotel. This Levy has just been announced and potentially cost $10 per night. i have already paid the balance of the holiday and checking the t / c on the BA website under price is states
6.3. Your accommodation price (if any) includes: any Government taxes and compulsory service charges for hotels (unless otherwise stated) and other services bought for you.
Should i have to pay the extra ?

Yes, you will have to pay. Directly to the hotel and not to BA.
Of course you can try to raise it as a contractual issue for a full refund. But if you go, you will have to pay.0 -

These are included in the price of your ticket and are levied by airport operators, governments, or other authorities.
Some airports may levy local taxes, fees or charges against passengers upon arrival or departure. These are not included in the price of your ticket and should be paid locally.
Government and/or airport taxes are refundable, however some countries will apply a Value Added Tax, Sales Tax or equivalent, which will only be refunded on fully flexible tickets.
Which class of hotel are you staying in?
