I took almost £30k at 0% 18 months ago to stooze. I then decided to remortgage to buy another house. I visited Nationwide informally, the person I spoke to ran my figures through a calculator and told me to reduce it to under £10k, which I did. Each 10k of debt knocked about £40k off the amount I could borrow.

My circumstances are not the same as yours though- we're all different. So have a discussion with whoever is advising you.
