If you already have an eco egg I have seen some refills on a buy one get one half price deal from Holland and Barrett. Looks like they are mostly sold out online but you could always check your local store.0

Quick update our eco washing ball arrived on Saturday so I have had chance to try it out over the weekend. I only used it on 30 minute quick wash with very lightly soiled clothes and it seems to do the trick. Everything smelt nice and fresh, I didn't use any fabric conditioner or vinegar either but everything felt nice and soft and dried lovely on the line. I don't think I'd bother using on bedding/towels but I'm pleased with it so far well worth a fiver of anyone's money0

Just bought an Eco Spin ball from Amazon. Blurb says its got powerful magnets but my hiking compass shows no influence.Pseudoscience probably, Has anyone got real scientific tests on these, how would magnets make your washing cleaner anyway?0

I have no idea, but our plumber insisted on attaching a "reversing-pole" magnetic device to our incoming mains some years ago, to protect the boiler & other devices from limescale build-up; apparently the on-off magnetic impulse makes the calcium less likely to stick to the pipes. Somehow.... however he's had the last laugh as we've suffered very little limescale damage over the years compared to most of our neighbours.
But I will add a vote for Ecozone's Eco-washball; I got a chance to try some old ones for free via our local Freegle group & was so impressed I bought the up-to-date version & Freegle'd the old ones onwards. I probably wouldn't have been so pleased when our somewhat-muddy boys were still at home, but for the four of us (OH, myself & 2 x 20-something girls) it's excellent; you can add oxy-bleach or conditioner if you feel the need, but I rarely do so & despite our extremely hard water, haven't missed it. Must be the magnet...
