Question about PIP

As i've been looking at posts and sites and stuff about ESA.
I stumbled upon that Pip has changed a bit for mental health this past year?

Apparently though. You have to be getting help for Daily living activities?
I don't get much help and i live by myself. I either have to really struggle or leave it or leave it for days. For example , i would go without brushing my hair and teeth for days on end, not take my medication. due to my depression. I am unable to make a decent meal everyday as i cant concentrate and havent got the ingredients as ive havent shopped.

other examples are, The only help i get is rather than me go out and do a grocery shop is have it delivered (which costs more when doing top up shop, if not over a certain amount)
Having to get a taxi (more costs) or my dads friend to take me somewhere if available. (for example, to the tribunal) as i cant cope on a bus or train.
I don't have many friends (cant see them helping with my daily tasks) as i dont go out and i dont get to socialise due to my chronic anxiety.. and my parents are ill themselves (dads illness is worse since my esa tribunal) and i'm not close enough to other family members.
All this just makes me feel even more down when i want to do something and unable to. I.E. actually go to visit my parents as well and then they dont understand and they miss me and i miss them and then i feel guilty and gets me down.

Would it be worthwhile me claiming for PIP? or do i need more help from others on daily tasks ?(which i cant see me getting)
thank you for reading,
Amy

I am not sure why you think you have to be getting help?
For sure, you have to need help, but it says on the form that this includes help you need but don’t necessarily get.

Ring up for a form. When it comes, there will be a date on it . This is the date it needs to be returned by. Try and get help with the form. There is a lot of online help, or you could try to get an appointment with CAB, or Welfare Rights. Also if possible you should send some medical evidence with the form eg consultant’s report.

It's not about the help you get, it's about the help you need whether you get the help or not. The only part that changed regarding mental health is following and planning a journey descriptor, all the rest remains the same.

There's a PIP self test here that you can complete. It's just a guide to what you could possibly score.

You would need to send in relevant evidence to support your claim, with the PIP form. Don't rely on them contacting anyone because this rarely happens.

There's another good guide here to filling out the form. This will give you more understanding about the descriptors. It's clearly states on this guide it's about the help you need, whether you get it or not.
