Assuming any of this is true, which I have some doubts about - the OP is too stingy to spend on a lawyer with £175k in the bank, but would give anything more to charity? - the OP clearly hasn't understood what the employer said. They said they'd thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action. They have. The fact that HE doesn't think it's appropriate is tough luck.
If any of this is true, then move on; you are wasting people's time repeatedly being told the same thing, so if you don't believe us, spend some of that money you claim to have on a lawyer to be told it. If it isn't true then your are just wasting people's time.0
