Cat with Fleas is sticking tongue out

Hi, was hoping I could get reassurance as the vet is closed although will be calling them first thing tomorrow.
My cats / flat has got a rather nasty outbreak of fleas. We are all getting bitten.
I treated them four weeks ago but the heat has brought out an infestation we were not expecting.
I've just sprayed him with flea spray bob Martin which we've just bought.
One of the cats has a few moments of sticking his tongue out like his jaw was locked and dribbling. It was just after he had a huge cleaning session and I'm sure he had.a mouth full of fleas.
He is okay now, although a bit grumpy at the spray but did his usual head butting and purring once settled. It's also very hot here which probably isn't helping.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can do now? I'm trying to make him drink water but he is pushing away but not in distress, more like I don't want that.

Bob Martin  Many cats have died because of using this brand. Allergic to it. Oh and it is useless. No doubt your poor cat inhaled the stuff. You are lucky your poor cat recovered. Bin it and get proper flea spray you can buy online which is cheaper.
But I would take the cat to the vet to be checked out.0 -
Bob Martin products are not only useless theyre dangerous, all you need to do is google the name.
Youd be much better with indorex and prescribed flea treatment.0 -
How Bob martin products aren't banned I don't know.
Bin the spray and get him to the vet. Frontline or Advantage are your best bet for flea spot on treatments.0 -
I used to buy off the shelf spot on treatments, not any more, they don't work. Now I get mine from the vet. You need to treat the house as well.

Use a household flea spray that lasts for some months-e.g. Acclaim, Indorex. and follow the instructions carefully.
You need to treat everywhere the goes- floors, bedding, furniture, clothes etc
Fleas lay their eggs in crevices so treat among skirting boards, down the side of seats, under cushions etc.
You can't be too thorough.
These treatments kill the fleas and also stop any eggs from developing.
These are available from your vet or online.
For the cat get a proper flea treatment- Frontline or Advantage again from your vet or online. There also generic forms that are cheaper than the big brand name.
Before treating your cat check how ling you need to leave between using th Bob Martins and another treatment. If you can't find anything ask your vet.
if your cat goes outside it is probably picking up new fleas so consider ongoing flea preventative.0 -
We buy advantage from Amazon. Frontline no longer works. Injections from the vets also do not work.0
