Gifting books on a kindle?

    As for creating an account on amazon.com - i have thought of it. I just wonder if my kindle would be locked to an American account then and would it cause more problems than it solves?


    Yes, that. I did it once years ago when there was a kindle book not available in the UK, but it certainly was a faff, you had to be signed onto one or the other and switch back and forwards, I wouldnt bother doing it again.
  • FYI - it's now possible to gift books in the UK as well. Go to the page of a Kindle book, and on the right you'll see "Buy for others: give this ebook as a gift". Click through and you'll see an order page. You can *either* enter someone's email for a link to the book to be sent straight away, *or* leave it blank, in which case the link will be sent to you and you can share it on Christmas Day / write it in a card.
