Issued a parking charge incorrectly

Hi
I got fined at a train station and want to appeal the fine as I bought parking through the app shortly after the fine was issued (and I was on the train)
When I go to challenge the PCN I cannot as following the "PCN number:" form it is just blank. Does this mean the ticket is still valid as there is an obvious error on it.?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Read up in the newbies faq thread on this and specifically how to deal with parking on railway property where bylaws are in force
Throughout you are advised never to reveal the driver
You need to edit your post to remove those details0 -
1) It isnt a fine.
2) read the newbies thread, its apparent you havent
3) Edit the first post so we cannot identify the driver. This is IMPERATIVE. Dont argue, just do it. THE DRIVER parked. YOU are the keeper.
4) Its an invoice, very little makes it "invalid".0 -

Follow the advice on here, the regulars know what they are doing.
But why do people approach parking with such a casual fashion still?
The ppc should give a 10 min grace period, I imagine it was more than that by the time the driver had walked to the station caught the train sat down and decide now was the time to pay.
I wish people would stop thinking of car parking like it was 20 years ago, it's what gives these parasites such a buzz and profit!0
