Options
Hi, very random.. but i live in a bungalow outside front of my house i have a small drain. when i fill kitchen sink and drain it i can hear the drain going / water disappearing. however, when i fill bath tub in bathroom and drain it away, i cant hear any sort of drain noise outside or anywhere that shows me where the water actually goes? any help with this. is it normal?

Kitchen going into an open gulley and the bath going into the toilet stack perhaps? Failing that angle of the pipe and the force of water coming out of the pipe due to the head of water in the tub.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

Does the water drain away? Does it drain slowly?

What's on the other side of the wall?

Drains at a normal speed in bathroom, kitchen its a lot faster! Otherside bathroom wall, nothing but a small hole that looks like there was a overflow pipe possibly in past. Drain i mention is right outside by kitchen window.

picture of pipes under bath, wasnt sure of which link to use so i copied and pasted three :) all same pic. but outside wall of bathroom no drain, and a small hole where a overflow pipe might have been. outside kitchen wall there is a drain to floor.
    kitchen drains away very fast.
bathroom drains away quick enough but not gushing fast like kitchen
any reason why i cant hear bathroom water drain away but can kitchen? im guessing nothing to worry about as been like this for near a year now, so id imagine if a issue id have seen some kind of evidence by now? thank you

I wonder that big round hole in the far left hand corner is where your loo is now connected. Your bath waste will also be connected to it (internally). I bet there's a bit of trunking between bath and the RHS of the loo - along that far wall. That's where they boxed in the waste pipe from the bath and the cold water feed for the loo. It's quite a shallow angle, so what with that and the pipe being boxed in, means you won't hearing much when emptying the bath.

A picture of the bathroom as it is now, from the same angle, will confirm this.
