Is the replacement one actually new (where it would be reasonable to expect the dealer to just replace it with one without faults) or just "newer" as originally posted, where an alternative to the same spec might not be available?0

Let me guess they !!!8220;discounted!!!8221; the new motorbike by giving you a stupidly high amount for your trade in and you now want to give the motor home back and take the profit they put into it ?.0

Have any of you that have replied ever bought a brand new Motorhome or indeed any Motorhome ?
The most dreaded thing in Motorhome ownership is damp and if that occurred immediately it doesn’t bode well for the future.
I think the op did the correct thing in rejecting the Motorhome as they would never have confidence in it, also they are a huge amount of money and most people on finding the correct one have it for a number of years.
To the Op are you a member of either the caravan club or the camp8ng and Caravanning club as they both have legal advice as part of your membership, I found them both helpful when we had problems with our Motorhome. Good luck and hope you get it sorted.0 -

More than you and the OP put together.
The issue isn't the damp in the OP's complaint, it's their delusional request about having money back and not their px0 -
And, somehow, I very much doubt this brand spankin' motorhome is getting scrapped. It's getting the leak and the floor fixed, then sold on as a pre-reg.0

It does rather.
It doesn't to me.
I don't see how a dealer can set up a new finance deal for a customer who hasn't asked for it on a vehicle they previously owned. Especially if the new finance is at a higher rate of interest than the old one.
I'm not sure what the solution is, but you can't force credit on someone.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

You can’t, so the solution is the op pays what’s outstanding on the first motorhome.0 -

I think you may have got that part of the story wrong.
Does the OP not mean the lower rate is now not available on the new (the second new) motorhome?0 -

But you can't see damp within the first 30 days. It takes months for the damage from damp to start to take effect. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
