Morning chums had a bit of an upset tum last night ,sitting watching the footie after dinner felt most peculiar and spent the next few hours feeling really grotty, a few hours sleep on the sofa then went to bed around 2.30 and feeling 100% better now. What ever it was its definitely gone thank goodness.I ate some grapes yesterday that tasted a bit off so it may have been them. Boiled water for the next few hours I think just in case. Taking things very gently today
:)
Supposed to be a scorcher later
Have a good day chums

Good morning,
Sun's out at the moment but look slike it will cloud over later. Still, its warm and no rain forecast so can't complain.
I can complain about OH though  So much noise watching the football last night (can be forgiven) but also drank too much, especially for a work night, then proceeded to smash a large glass pan lid which shattered everywhere! He spent at least half an hour trying to clean it up (again making stupid amounts of noise), finally came to bed and stumbled around disturbing me just as I was nodding off. Had a very disrupted night's sleep and came down this morning to shards of glass still on the kitchen floor. I'm not impressed. But I know this is nothing really in the grand scheme of things and that little rant has helped
Holly - so glad you will have a holiday with your friend, I really want to plan some more things to look forward to.
TA - sorry you are still struggling with Mr TA, and the last thing you need is surgeries messing you around so you have to make extra trips for medication. Really not fair on you when people can't do their job.
Got a few bits to get done this morning and a couple of meetings later so better get on. But first, tea I think :coffee:
Have a good day all0 -
Morning:wave:
Off to the docs again this morning to try and sort this wound issue out. The district nurse came yesterday and isn't happy with it (mm no sh*t sherlock neither am I) Not holding out much hope as the last visit was a waste of time.
Book club was great last night and we had a lovely meal of pulled pork and sides and a guinness cake for pudThe new books to read are Night of Fire Colin Thubron and The Alchemist which I read years ago but will happily read again.
More chilling on the cards here after the docs... nurse will be round again this afternoon. Hoping this gets sorted and I can start to do more keeping the house tidy where I can but hoovering is out of the question for now.
Food will be more of the stripped chicken not sure with what yet.
Have a great day all x0 -
Speky, we're going as soon as DH finishes his packing.0

Morning all,
A grand clean of the house today after the weekend. Im waiting for several deliveries too.
Grump is moaning about work as usual.
Youngest says he is going to buy a second car. I am thinking, where the heck is he going to park the thing we have problems parking here as it is.
Eldest phoned me last night. His best friend in primary school has died. He was 37. Brain tumour apparently. All the more reason to make the most of what he has i told him and he agreed.
SIL has had to call in reinforcements to help him with the kids (his Mum). He's not coping at all. Its a good job TBO will be back home tomorrow (well the early hours of).
Holly i think a break is just what you need. :T
Nelski i hope all goes well at the doctors.
TA I hope Mr TA manages to get some nutrition into him today.
LainyT Poor Neddy. I hope she is less stressed today.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all
Up a bit earlier todayI have put a wash on and emptied the dw, just having a cup of tea and some almond butter on toast (its delish) will then hang washing and get tidied up.
I suffer from really dry itchy and burning skin on my face, when I was on holiday it disappeared completely, I have been thinking about it and googled it and it may be the salt water from the sea, I went swimming every day in the sea and apparently salt is very good for skin, so I am going to make some salt water up and apply every day and see what happens (worth a try I thought)
Dinner tonight is some pork belly slices with dauphinoise potatoes and veg, I have some cream to use up and some potatoes on the turn so this will use both up.
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Success of sorts!! I rang the surgery re the script for the item the Urologist at St James prescribed. Err they couldn't find any trace of one! I could have wept, thinking here we go again. Receptionist decided I had better have a telephone appointment to sort it out with a doctor! A doctor has just phoned me and said the item had been added to Mr TA's medication list but not sent electronically to B**ts as I requested! Anyway he went through all his medication with me, adding the items not currently on repeat, and which we have to grovel for, to his repeat list. Then sorted out which nutritional drinks he prefers and added those as well. Hallelujah that's all we wanted in the first place and, in future, there should be no problem with missing scripts, or should there?!!
There, got that off my chest! Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening! And I used to be such a placid person!! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Lainey oh, poor Lulu. I know how stressed some of the doggies get when there's a thunderstorm, or there are workmen cutting the hedges around us, so I can imagine how she felt, and being in her stable and unable to run away from it. Well done for thinking of her fly-mask to try and deaden the sound a bit.
JackieO I'd say the grapes are definitely No 1 Suspect if they tasted a bit strange. I hope you're feeling a bit better by now.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi chums feeling a great deal better than last night thank goodness.
Had a message from DGS Ben who is having a great time in Mexico City he and his girlfriend have been to see an exhibition of an artist called Frida Kahlo and really liked it.
His girfriend has been doing an Art History degree and will be starting her Masters in September. They said the celebrations in the city when mexico won a game the other day was manic and very noisy. They are going to visit my niece tomorrow which will be nice for them.
Took DGS Jack down to see his boss at his part-time job and he will be getting extra shifts now he has finished his 'A' levels as he wants to start saving towards September when he goes to Uni. I also treated him to his favourite aftershave called Millions which he had run out of It was a bit pricey but he is such a good and willing lad and does a good bit around the place to help his Mum and Dad out. I also went to Dobbies and we got two tubs of fence paint for his Mum's garden so he will be fence painting at some point between now and then
Hope everyone is having a good day its very warm and humid here at the moment so I have got my feet up and relaxing with a cuppa
Cheers chums

Evening folks. I made it home eventually.
I'm glad to read that the poorly ones are feeling better, and am SO happy that TA has managed to sort out meds for Mr TA.
My DM's doc appointment was interesting. She asked that I sit in with her (as she's deaf) and the doc was good about it. Seems that DM could be going into heart failure because of her ongoing issues. Not what we wanted to hear but at least it's a diagnosis. Then the doc sent DM for a chest Xray. We had the choice of two hospitals for this so we headed off to what used to be Yorkhill Childrens' Hospital - a great choice as we had hardly got our seats warm when she was called through. Ten minutes later we were out.
After a short shopping trip and a toastie in M&S I got to head home. There was loads of post waiting for me, including an offer from my bank of a PPI repayment of over £1K. I did a purely speculative inquiry to them as the loan I had was over 15 years ago. Happy days indeed as I didn't expect anything.
JackieO - lovely to hear about Frida Kahlo and your DGS girlfriend. FK's art is stunning. I too did an Art History degree at undergraduate level, it's not much use in the commercial world but fascinating.
I've got a chicken in the oven, this time I'm using roasting bags to help avoid a messy oven.
I can feel the urge to pour a well deserved glass of wine.... five days of administering TLC, now it's my turn. :rotfl::rotfl:0
