  • r.mac she really isn't joking! I've seen them too. And despaired. thriftlady, I have the same timer and heartily recommend it! :) You can get them at my local hardware shop, so it might be worth looking somewhere similar in your town hollydays? Mine was just over a tenner but has lasted three years already, and the one my mum had lasted nearly 10. :)

Maybe I am pointing out the obviousconfused-smiley-013.gif, but I had this problem with timers and someone advised me you have to wind it all the way to the end (ie 90 mins or whereever it wont twist anymore) and then put back to your time (ie 10 mins). Its like a wind up car and should make the halfhearted ping return.

If this is not the case I am sorry and will hang my head in shame!!

I just gave up in the end trying to find one that kept it's ring, ping or ting :rotfl:
DS3 has a timer on all day for one thing or another so I bought sand timers in the end, nice robust chunky colour coded ones from one minute to 30 mins...great for him,he always watches them but no help with my cooking as I always forget to look at the darned things :o
