Nappy Halloween/and things that "ping" when they should "ring"

mm,well firstly re the title-reading the top of Martins page tonight i thought it said nappy halloween-thats why I am having an eye test tommorrow (its your age dear!).
Secondly,I want to rant a bit about KITCHEN TIMERS.

Mine (purchased from Lakeland) ,of the wind up variety, has stopped ringing and is now pinging, in a lame ,"I couldnt care less whether I even ping " sort- of way.How annoying is this!! Why is it every timer i buy does this, after what i consider to be a short time?Rant over:D

LOL and sympathy, hollydays! Not sure whether you'd like this to go to the vent board (if you want to warn people not to buy a timer like yours) or more sympathy is required, in which case, the daily would be perfect! I'll wait to see what you think.

The baby's learnt how to hit the caps lock. Not sure he's capable of making things bold yet. Give him time...

I bought a couple of digital timers from Honk Kong or somewhere, they were listed on E-bay....they still make a decent racket when they should.

Maybe your timer is suffering from SAD or man flu. :rotfl:

All mine ping instead of ring too now.

I think it's just what happens once you become an old timer.

Mine was a couple of pounds on ebay too, also from Hong Kong. It's magnetic to stick to the fridge and it has a clip to put it on my belt - great for 'flying.'

Well, I was going to give you link to the timer I have from Lakeland -but of course they don't do it any more   Lakeland are forever discontinuing perfectly good products yet they continue to stock useless rubbish like gadgets to cut your toast into soldiers

Anyway, the timer I have is by Salter. It can time up to 4 things at once and it bleeps nice and loudly. You just enter in the time you want and press start. I love it and use several times ad ay including to time my coffee (4 mins to brew;) ), I don't really know how I managed without it.

If it was purchased from Lakeland I'd give them a call and see what they say.. they have always been pretty fantastic when I've had cause to ring!!
