Bought house - Failed boiler service

Don't really know what to do next because I need my boiler serviced and need the meters changed from prepay to direct debit meters. Do I need to stay with BG?
Very unlikely the person who "serviced" the boiler would also do meter changes. If you're not obliged to stay after the meter swap your current supplier, BG could be the quickest.

for gas billing, you dont need to stay with BG but contact them and see if they will offer a new customer reduced tariff for 12 months,it works !
The boiler electrical isolation should be there somewhere, often hidden under worktops, behind fridges, washing machines, integrated appliances etc.
Doubt the boiler is wired directly into a ring main or the consumer unit although have seen that.
If the boiler has been relocated, the electrical disconnection point could still be where the original boiler electrics were. Have seen combination boilers installed in a kitchens and the installer still using a fused spur in the airing cupboard.
Hope you find a local gas service technician, beware of sales people !0 -
Where does the electrical connection go back to? You don't need to have a plug, a fused connection unit (FCU) is acceptable. The FCU will look something like this: https://www.screwfix.com/p/mk-13a-dp-switched-fused-connection-unit-with-flex-outlet-white/13479.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
