So angry with Groupon cowboys

6th May - ordered a garden furniture set
W/c 14th May was delivered. Part of the glass table top smashed - no fragile stickers.

Raised a dispute, took them around 2-3 weeks to offer us a goodwill gesture of £20 to keep it. We declined. Organised collection and subsequent refund, they ask for 3 dates that would work for them to pick from. 14/15/16th June. No email received so called them on the 15th, told collection wasn't available for any of the dates specified. Wouldn't connect me to a supervisor but agreed new collection dates of 18/19/20th June. Account credited with a £50 gesture of goodwill, told them if not collected by 20th we would take this further.

Low and behold - email received stating collection will be 30th. I have zero confidence this collection and subsequent refund will materialise. I have spoken to my credit card provider but they won't open a claim until 30th June as they only get one shot at it.

In the meantime, are there any consumer rights acts etc I can quote to groupon to get this collection expedited? I am so angry and frustrated.

Not really. You could return it to them yourself if you want a speedier resolution and refund. You've already had a £50 credit which would seem to be a reasonable recompense for having to wait a while longer.

Why is keeping it longer such a problem? Have you got limited space to store it or something?

We have had to purchase more furniture - it's the fact that they are taking so long to process the refund and also the shocking customer service that really gets to me. The £50 is a credit to my groupon account which won't get used as I'll never use their services again.

I agree with leaving that £50 sitting doing nothing rather than using it for something else.

    That'll teach Groupon......

What do you want me to say? I don't think there is anything you can do, unless you want to start invoicing them for storage which will just get ignored. You've had a £50 credit - it's your choice whether to use that or not - but I fail to see what actual loss you've suffered in having to wait a while?

What a thankless person you are.
Very few times on your posting history have you bothered to thank people who’ve given their free time to reply.

    Indeed.

Next time robynlouise, to save time, just tell people what advice you want to hear and someone will come along and copy and paste it for you. It will save you having to read a dose of realism or pragmatism.
