How big are these branches anyway? I cut up all my firewood using an ordinary bowsaw. They cost a lot less, and are rather less likely to take your leg off by mistake.If it sticks, force it.

Good old Southend. Just drag it down to the beach and let the tide wash it away for free.
Over hre in Colchester, they take our green waste for free once a fortnight.
My son attacked my mum's garden with some vigour and left a huge pile of branches to deal with. Bought a shredder and got the small bits down to 3 waste sacks full. Well worth the money and we can sell it for nearly what we paid for it once we have chopped everything up.
Failing that option, what about asking a local tree surgeon?. They make money selling the wood chippimgs by the bag load.Never Knowingly Understood.
