Mobile or Tablet upgrade

Options
I previously bought a mobile handset separate from the SIM contract

It is coming up to 2yrs and I am looking at o
options

I will certainly get a different SIM contract as tthe price is going up substantially

But I am wondering whether to upgrade phone or tablet

I used to use my phone for browsing in the evening, but in an attempt to prolong the battery life, I bought a cheap Amazon Fire 7 inch. However it is 1gb RAM, so is not always the quickest

I work from home so most of my browsing is on a 7 inch tablet. I use my 5.5 inch 2gb phone for all calls, but when traveling, sometimes to access the internet. Even when traveling though, I mainly use a laptop for 90% of the journey and only use phone when standing on train or waiting for connection at station

My wife does not work at home and uses her phone for everything. She recently up graded to a 5.8inch phone which is tempting me to also up grade phone! I have seen some 6 inch 4gb Chinese ones I was interested in

However, considering my change of substituting my phone use with a tablet, I am wondering if I really need to upgrade my phone and maybe an upgraded tablet is a better idea

I have seen a few 10 inch 2gb tablets for the same price as a phone upgrade. 7 inches is enough to fit in one hand and obviously bigger than a 5.5-6 inch phone, but a 10 inch screen is appealing

So currently torn!

Don't upgrade the phone. The improvements if there are any will be so subtle that you'll find yourself thinking that you've wasted however many hundreds of quids to end up using it exactly the same as you did your old one in very little time.

I agree with Tarambor. If your existing phone is doing everything you want, there is no benefit in changing it.
On the other hand, you are finding your tablet awkward, so that is what you need to upgrade.

Most of the upgrades on phones these days only give you improvements that you don't need and will never use - just there to try to persuade you that you can't live without them and so part you from your money!
